waiting for the morning with anticipation

we move from the night to the still dark twilight of adulthood

the morning feeling so close and somehow we not sleeping

nothing has changed.

just as the sun set we expect it to rise

just as its done for the generations of days before us

to brightly glow with adrenalin as it does everyday.

we stay up the whole night questioning the hour because nothing has ever taken this long

angry with the stars we make our own time

and waste it.

we are humans hungry for the wet morning done lawn on our feet

hungry for the hot morning sun to shine on our face

but we are in the still dark twilight

and since the morning is still so unclear

we’re making our own time

wasting it.
